Our Team

The core team of Transfish Language Services is formed by a group of passionate, aspiring, young professionals. They received advanced education in translation-related  subjects and have experience of studying and living overseas. All of them hold translation qualifications, are culturally sensitive and have professional backgrounds or working experience in the fields of finance and law.

Meanwhile, Transfish also has built a pool of talented freelance translators, all of whom were chosen through strict testing and are evaluated on an ongoing basis.

Jiang (Spice) Yu

As the CEO of Transfish Language Services, Jiang (Spice) Yu has been working in the translation industry for 12 years. He has accumulated abundant experience through translating materials of different types and for various fields. He has also acted as an interpreter for hospitals, courts, board meetings and large conferences.

He obtained his BA in English from Shanghai International Studies University. Then he went to Australia to pursue further education, where he completed the study toward Master of  Interpreting and Translation at University of Western Sydney, Master of Conference Interpreting at Macquarie University, Master of Arts in English at the University of Sydney and Master of Professional Accounting at Federation University Australia.

He is a NAATI accredited professional English<>Chinese translator and professional English<>Mandarin interpreter. He also holds the CATTI Level 2 interpreter qualification authorised by the Ministry of Personnel of PRC. He is a member of Translators Association of China (TAC).

Bruce Shen

Bruce is a returnee from Australia. He holds a master's degree in interpreting and translation and a graduate diploma in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), both issued by University of Western Sydney. He is a NAATI accredited professional English-Chinese translator and professional English<>Mandarin Interpreter.

After coming back to China, Bruce was firstly engaged in IELTS training at New Oriental School, and then he worked as an in-house translator and interpreter for several companies in the consumer finance industry, translating corporate documents and interpreting the management. He is highly experienced in the fields of construction, biotechnology and finance.
Bruce is an active member of the Toastmasters Club. He is also the loving father of a two-year-old son.

Gavin Wang

Gavin, a CATTI Level 2 Interpreter, holds a master's degree in interpreting conferred by the prestigious Graduate Institute of Interpreting and Translation, Shanghai International Studies University. Despite his young age, he has been working in this industry for over three years and has accumulated abundant experience in areas such as business, finance, technology, engineering, law and environment. He is well versed in interpreting in both consecutive and simultaneous modes. He is also a seasoned trainer of TOEFL courses for multiple educational institutions, including the New Oriental Group. Speaking English like a native, he has won a range of speech contests and debate contests, including the FLTRP Cup. His experience of studying philosophy at Ottawa University has endowed him with a strong cultural awareness and helped him develop a keen sense of business.

Tiff Sun

Tiff Sun is a NAATI accredited professional translator and interpreter, with a bachelor's degree in computer science and technology, a master's degree in conference interpreting and a postgraduate diploma in interpreting and translation, the latter two of which were both conferred by Macquarie University. Since 2009, she has been serving multinational corporations, Fortune 500 private companies, government agencies and non-profit organizations as both a full-time and freelance interpreter. Because of her previous in-house positions at various companies, she has accumulated over 8,000 hours of working as a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter, covering thousands of conferences and meetings. The areas she specialises in include finance, innovation, risk management, IT, operations, venture capital, private equity, life science, medical equipment, TMT and government relations. In addition, Tiffany is also an active translator, serving a number of science and technology magazines as a special part-time translator. Being a literature enthusiast, she has independently translated several literary works, such as biographies and short stories, which have been published and well received.

Duncan Deng

Duncan has been translating and interpreting between English and Chinese since 2005. He graduated cum laude from the Graduate Institute of Interpreting and Translation, Shanghai International Studies University (GIIT/SISU). He holds CATTI Level 2 Translator Certificate, and he was one of the few winners of Han Suying Young Translators Award in 2007.

Duncan started his career at a translation company based in Shanghai, where, apart from being an in-house translator, he managed projects for public sector clients and provided training on computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools. In 2009, Duncan relocated to Nairobi, Kenya and worked as an in-house conference translator at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) and later as a Chinese language consultant at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), where he translated press releases, public outreach materials and provide interpreting for the Executive Director of UNEP and division heads for various events. Almost a decade into the business, Duncan’s offerings include translation/interpreting for projects large or small, with or without CAT involvement, technical or literature, English into or from Chinese, always delivered in time and beyond employer/client expectation. He has established long-standing business relations with major clients in education, marketing, consultancy and legal fields. Currently, Duncan works at an intergovernmental research network and resides in Kobe, Japan with his family.
